The Congress party on Wednesday announced the second list of its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As anticipated earlier, former BJP MP from Bhandara-Gondia Lok Sabha constituency Nana Patole will be Congress candidate from Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency. He is all set to take on stting MP and Union minister for surface transport and shipping Nitin Gadkari.
Former Union minister Sushilkumar Shinde too featured in the Congress’ second list along with Milind Deora and Pritya Dutt from Mumbai.
Shinde will contest from Solapur while Deora will fight Lok Sabha polls from South Mumbai seat.
Former MP and daughter of Sunil Dutt, Priya Dutt will contest from Mumbai North Central. She had taken a break from the active politics a few months back, fueling the speculations that she may not contest the LS polls this time. However, the party had convinced her and she would contest from Mumbai South.
Namdev Usendi was given ticket from Gadchiroli Chimur Lok Sabha seat.
The screening committee of the Congress, headed by party’s in-charge of Maharashtra Mallikarjun Kharge, finalised the candidates in Delhi, said party sources.
