On account of women’s day, Manaswini Foundation had organised a paper bag making workshop at Shaskiya Mahila Vasati Gruha, Katol Road, Nagpur. The objective of the program was empowering the disabled women with the skills to build a better future. Suman Dass and Chanda Mukase guided the participants about various types of paper bags, envelopes, paper flowers for decoration etc.
Manaswini Foundation has been taking efforts to promote sustainable community development, and for that the foundation on a regularly basis organises variety of skill development programs. It is always better to make people financially independent rather than providing them some money, says President of Manaswini, Neelam Bowade
Around 65 women participated in the workshop. Free materials were provided to all participants and organisation promised to sell their products in the market, so that those women can earn some personal income which will help in boosting their self confidence.
Vocational training for the disabled can be a big help in dealing with them, not only these courses help them make the most of their abilities, but they also provide a stepping stone towards a stable life, Neelam mentioned
Snacks were also distributed to all the participants. Neelam Bowade, Indrani Roychoudhary and Ruchita shukla were present on this occasion.
