The police continuing its action against the illegal flesh trade busted another sex racket in the posh Giripeth locality off Amravati Road, under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi police station.
The police arrested the accused Mohammed Shamim Abdul Karim Ansari (51), resident of Plot No 19, Pushkar Society, Jafar Nagar under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station and rescued a girl. The action was carried out jointly by social security cell and crime branch of the city police.
The police got a tip off that Mohammed Shamim was running sex racket in Jagat Millennium Apartment where he was forcing poor girls into the prostitution business luring them for money. The police team then raided the place and arrested Mohammed Shamim and rescued a girl from his clutches. An offence has been registered against him under relevant sections. Further investigations are on.
Locked house burgled
Some unidentified burglars struck at a locked house in Zingabai Takli under the jurisdiction of Mankapur police station and made their escape good with cash of Rs 600 and ornaments collectively worth Rs 1,05,3000.
The house is owned by Shubhangi alias Shantabai Yadavrao Gawande (47), who had gone to her sister’s place at Navi Shukrawari, Mahal, Nagpur on March 10. When she returned on the morning of March 12, she found the front door open with the lock broken. She then lodged a complaint with Mankapur police station. On the basis of her complaint, the police have registered an offence under sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC against unidentified persons.
4 booked for attempt to murder
Ganeshpeth police have booked four persons on the charges of attempt to murder. According to the complaint filed by Lobhesh Kishore Gaikwad (22), resident of Subhash Road, he had gone to a nearby pan kiosk with his friend Pravin Laxmikant Ghate (21), resident of Kothi Road, Mahal.
While Lobhesh was talking to Pravin, the accused Sonu Pawar (40), Shanu Khan (19), Sohel Machchi (22), Yogesh Gupta (20), along with their two-three accomplices arrived at the spot and assaulted Lobhesh and Pravin with sharp weapons over some old dispute.
On the basis of Lobhesh’s complaint, police registered an offence under sections 307 and 34 of the IPC against the accused. The injured are undergoing treatment at Nuron Hospital.
Externed goon arrested
One Sheikh Asif alias Tenya, externed from city limits from July 17, 2017, was found loitering near Jain Mandir in Marwadi Wadi, in Shanti Nagar. The police arrested him and registered an offence under relevant section. The action was carried out under the guidance of DCP Zone III Rahul Maknikar.
