Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray will be arriving in Vidarbha on Friday for addressing party select workers in Amravati and Nagpur as part of election campaign for the general elections. This will be the first such combined meeting for BJP-Sena alliance. BJP stalwart Union Minister for Transport, Shipping and Ganga Rejuvenation, Nitin Gadkari, who represents Nagpur Lok Sabha seat will also address the workers.
About 100 selected party workers in each Assembly segment will take part in the meeting which will be a total of 1200 workers, informed City BJP president Sudhakar Kolhe. Â The meeting is mainly to guide the workers on campaigning strategies. The Amravati meeting is for the West Vidarbha saffron workers while Nagpur meeting is for Eastern Vidarbha partymen. Ramtek is represented by Krupal Tumane from Shiv Sena. There are 12 Assembly segments in Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha constituencies.
It may be mentioned that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Wednesday evening released a list of party candidates which include former MP Nana Patole from Nagpur and Dr Namdeo Usendi from Gadchiroli.
In another development, NCP has also announced a list of candidates 12 candidates in Maharashtra but excluding Bhandara-Gondia where party stalwart Praful Patel would be fielded. He has also clarified that he himself and not his wife Varshaben should be contesting from the constituency.
Patole, who is Nagpur Congress Lok Sabha candidate, will be arriving in the city on Friday from New Delhi.
