The yatra commenced under the guidance of President Shriramdas Mission Universal Society, Swami Krishnanand Sarawati in collusion with Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The VHP along with members of Bajrang Dal, including, Hemant Jambhekar, Sanatkumar Gupta, Prashant Titare, Govind Shende, members of South Indian organisations, which included functionaries like SS Nair, K Jagadeesan, Shibu Nair and the members of Durgavahini gave a warm welcome to the Rathyatra and Shreeshakti Shantanand Maharshi.
National General Secretary of Shriramdas Mission Universal Society, Shreeshakti Shantanand Maharshi informed about the five objectives of the Rathyatra which commenced from Rameswaram and will reach Ayodhya. He said, ‘This is not only a spiritual or a religious march, it is a live temple of Lord Ram, which is going to the Janmabhoomi of Shriram, Ayodhya. Last year, the idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman were carried out from Ayodhya to Rameswaram in a similar Rathyatra.’
He further stated, ‘This yatra has not been organised by any political party or with any political intention. The main aim of this yatra is to reunite the Hindus of the country’.
The five objectives behind organising the Rathyatra are to inculcate teachings, principles and ideals of Lord Ram in Indian education; government should declare Thursday a weekly holiday, as Thursday is considered as the sacred day for Hindus, mentioned Maharshi Shantanand. He also demanded that one day in a year should be declared as ‘International Hindu Day’.
Ramrajya Rathyatra will Ayodhya on April 14 on the occasion of Ram Navmi, after travelling through  12 states and covering a distance of 9000 kms.
