Holi Milan programme was recently organised by Gujarati Mahila samaj, Dhantoli, at Shree Gujarati Samaj Bhavan, Wardha Road.
Women of Gujarati Mahila samaj had organised various fun- filled events to mark the festival of colours, namely antakshri, dance, songs based on the festival of holi and many more.
A unique ritual has been followed by the ladies, wherein the President of Gujarati Mahila samaj, is crowned as Mahaakalmand by the members. This year Dr Veena Talavia, President of Gujarati Mahila samaj, received the crown and sash of Mahaakalmand, along with the garland of hollow sugar cake (batashe) and a colorful wig.
The women were divided in four groups for antakshri competition. The groups were based on different colours of Holi, with names Laal, Kesariya, Orange and Gulaal groups. Every team member actively participated in the competition. At last, Gulaal team emerged as the winner of antakshri competition.
Chairman of Gujarati Mahila samaj committee, Adv Jyotsana Joshi gave her wishes to the members present at the occasion. The event was compered by Secretary Gujarati Mahila samaj, Meena Thakkar.
The event concluded with a dance party wherein everyone tapped their feet on the hits on Bollywood songs based on Holi while playing a floral Holi, and enjoy some mouth smacking snacks and a cool cool thandai to add more fun to the holi Milan party.
Treasurer, Jignasha Kotadiya, Babita Parekh, Deepika Trivedi, Alpa Khara, Indira Shah, along with Bharti Vani and Charulata Soni worked hard for the success of the event.
