Seher Hone Tak, a celebration of Hindi, Urdu poetry by women has been organised by Moment Crafters, on Saturday, at Tamarind, Chitnavis Centre, at 7 pm
The poetry will be held in a mushaira style. The show will witness various shayaris, Ghazals and Kathak to contributes and render the narration of Urdu poetesses.
While informing about the event, Director of Seher Hone Tak, Neerja Apte says, ‘Everyone knows about Mir and Galib, but people are not aware that women have been writing Nazma and Ghazals for a very long time. Though the voices of these poetesses were not able to reach out to the people, but their poetry remains relevant even today.’
‘Seher Hone Tak decided to give platform to the poetesses of Urdu Literature and also reminisce the long forgotten verses and works’, she added. Director, Neerja Apte will orate the Nazms written by eminent Urdu poetesses, Zebunnisa, Parveen Shakir, Anjum Rahbar, Fahmida Riaz, Kishwar Naheed, Amrita Pritam and Monika Singh.
Along with renowned Kathak artist, Aboli Thatte, Hindustani classical vocal and trained singer, Gayatri Dhavale will render their performances at the event.
Organisers of the show have appealed to the people to attend the event in large numbers.
