Fine all round performance by Ankit Vishwakarma ( 40 runs & three wickets) ably supported by Gautam Bodele (3 for 12)Â enabled their side Punjab National Bank (PNB) to record a convincing eight-wicket victory over last year’s runner up team Shikshak Sahakari Bank and enter the knockout in the Inter Bank Cricket match at Central Railway ground here on Monday. The tournament is organised by Bankers Sports Council.
SSB batted first after winning the toss but were restricted to a modest total of 83 for 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Ankit Vishwakarma (3 for 15 ) Gautam Bodele (3 for 12) ran through their side. They were well supported by Anil Adgaonkar, Govinda Narnaware, and Vinayak Kawadkar who captured one wicket a piece. For SSB, Vinayak Deshpande (15) was the only batsman to reach double figure mark. In reply, PNB surpassed the modest target losing only two wickets in the process.
Ankit Vishwakarma, who shone with red cherry gave fine performance with the bat too to notch up 40 unbeaten runs with the aid of seven fours. Anil Adgaonkar (20 not out) lent him good support from the other end to record a convincing 8 wickets victory.
