There is no short cut to success, said CA Arti Kulkarni while speaking as a chief guest at a function organised by Nagpur Branch of ICAI on the occasion of International Women’s Day. A unique initiative was organised to recognise the efforts of women faculties of the branch by felicitating them.
Ms Kulkarni said for becoming successful chartered accountant, knowledge of academics alone is not sufficient. A person needs to be a good human being also. She stressed the need for today’s woman to look for value addition and to think beyond.
Unless your vision is not being broad, the impact of what you do won’t be realised. MS Kulkarni spoke about women’s strength– Sarasawati, Durga and Lakshmi. You have to be physically fit to remain mentally alert and inculcate a habit of reading. She advised the young CA students to inculcate habit of reading and be aware of current happenings.
“You need to know before you talk,†said Suren Duragkar, Chairman Nagpur branch. He welcomed all the women faculties of Nagpur branch and thanked them for their dedication for serving branch and shaping the future of CA students.
Women’s role is indispensible, he said. Citing the example of Savitribai Phule, who fought for education and uplift of women, he spoke about multitasking abilities of women. He urged the faculties to update students about values, culture and current affairs apart from imparting course knowledge.
The programme was co-ordinated by Kirit Kalyani, Vice Chairman. Executive Committee Member, Akshay Gulhane introduced the Speaker. Harish Rangwani, Executive Committee Member praised the women hood while Secretary, Saket Bagdia proposed a vote of thanks.
Manisha Kapoor and Neerja Kartik also spoke on the occasion and shared their experiences of being woman.
