On March 20, 2019, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, during the financial year 2018-19 crossed coal production of 150 million tonnes. With this new record, SECL has become the first company in India to cross the coal production figure of 150 million tonnes. SECL by producing 150 MT has created history and a new benchmark in coal mining in the country.
On this prestigious achievement, SECL’s Chairman cum Managing Director A P Panda, congratulated SECL team, trade unions and all its stake holders. He said that this was possible due to the company’s culture of hard work, team spirit and SECL’s ability to stick to job even in difficult times.
SECL has been the single largest coal producing company since its inception. Pursuing its target for FY 2018-19, SECL has been creating new records on day to day basis. Recently on March 18, SECL breaking all its previous records created a new record of highest single day coal production to the tune of 6,66,000 tonnes. SECL is the first company in India to achieve this unprecedented record also. While achieving the highest target of coal production, the company is laying equal focus on the quality.
