The Bengali Association and Bengali Education Society with an active support of Abhijit Realtors are celebrating “Basanto Utsab†on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at South Central Zone Cultural Centre, opposite MLA Hostel.
The main attraction of the Basant Utsav would be the famous Bangla band, Chandrabindoo, known for satirical, colloquial lyrics, with references to current affairs and cultural phenomena. The Bangla band will perform at the South-Central Zone Cultural centre on Saturday at 7.00 pm. This will be the third visit of the popular band from the East-Indian city of Kolkata, here in Nagpur.
The two and half hour programme will be the showcase of musical diversities of the eight-member team that ranges from folk, jazz, country to rock and roll. The main team members of the band include: Upal Sengupta, Anindya Chatterjee (both are lead singers/ music composer), Chandril Bhattacharya (lyricist/music composer/ vocal), Arup Podder (bassist), Surojit Mukherjee (guitarist /arranger), Rajshekhar Kundu (drummer), Sibabrata Biswas (keyboard), and Sourabh Chatterjee (percussionist) and Tirthankar Majumder (sound engineer).
The famous singer and Hindi and Bengali music director, Pritam, famous actor and TV host, Jisshu Sengupta and noted singer Lopamudra Mitra were once part of the band.
As both the organisations—Bengali Association and Bengali Education Society, completed centenary years, arrangement have been made for audience for complimentary Bengali food and sweets. The entry for the programme is free.
