In order to get the electricity bill payment amount deposited into their account, the consumers should accept only computerised receipts. If anybody issuing handwritten receipts should be rejected and the same should be informed to the nearest office of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), appealed the MSEDCL through a press release.

With a view to provide better and prompt services to the consumers, MSEDCL runs various initiatives from time to time. In this series, MSEDCL has connected all its bill collection centres (except post offices) through a centralised software system. As a result, the bill paid at any of the centre gets reflected into the consumer’s account and a computerised receipt is generated against it, which is issued to the consumer.
However, it has been found that at some places people are being cheated by issuing handwritten receipts. Hence, the consumers after paying the bills should insist only for computerised receipt and should not accept handwritten receipt, the MSEDCL has appealed to the consumers.
The consumers can also avail the facility of online bill payment by visiting MSEDCL site www.mahadiscom.in. Those paying the bill online are entitled for a discount of 0.25 per cent, which is adjusted in the next bill. MSEDCL has appealed to the consumers to make maximum use of online bill payment and other online facilities.
