The Dharampeth Zone 2 of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched a severe campaign against the tax defaulters. Under the drive, the NMC officials attached six plots in Dabha locality on Wednesday. Of the attached plots, a plot owned by Ms Sindhu Naresh Barai at Khasra 16/4 was attached by the NMC as she owed Rs 1,70,252 to NMC towards tax since 2011.
A number of plot owners in Dabha and Hazaripahad have not paid their property taxes to the NMC. The NMC has given an ultimatum to fill in the tax form along with their documents within three days. If the plot owners fail to do so, their plots will be attached and transferred to NMC. The civic body will then auction these plots following all the norms, the NMC has warned, adding this is the last opportunity being given to the plot owners.
Thursday’s action was carried out by Assistant Superintendent Mr Rusiya, Tax Inspectors Mr Mehruliya, Mr Nimgade, Mr Khedkar, Mr Gaikee, Mr Chepe, Mr Borkar under the guidance of Assisant Commissioner Mahesh Moroney.
