Skipper Disha Kasat scored half century (55) as Vidarbha defeated Tripura by six wickets to record their second victory in the ongoing Under-23 Women One-Day League at VCA Civil Lines Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Batting first Tripura could able to score 113 for nine in 50 overs. S Chakraborty played an unbeaten knock of 34. Opener MK Rabidas contributed 33 whereas captain RR Saha scored 20. For Vidarbha, Vaishnavi Khandkar claimed two wickets for 32 runs whereas Gargi Wankar, Disha Kasat, Nupur Kohale and Minal Bodkhe were chipped in with one each.
In reply, Vidarbha achieved the target losing just four wickets in 33.4 overs. Thanks to Kasat who scored 55 in 67 balls with the help of eight boundaries. Openers Latika Inamdar (17) and A Bhongade (19) gave good start to Vidarbha.
For Tripura, Puja Das and M Rabidas got two wickets each. Although Vidarbha won the match, they are already out of contention. With two matches are yet to play, they have just four points to their credit.
