Punjab National Bank recorded a comfortable 7 wickets victory over Union Bank of India in the Semi final match played at Central Railway ground here today. They will meet Star studded Combined Bankers XI in the FINALS of tournament which is conducted by Bankers sports council, Nagpur.
Union Bank of India won the toss and elected to bat first and were restricted to a modest total of 102 in 18.1 overs.
Gautam Bodele who is consistently among the wickers in the tournament, once again gave a wonderful performance with the ball to capture 4.0.22.4.
He was well supported by Abhijeet Joshi who effected 3 stumpings and 1 catch behind the wickets.Shekhar Kangale 2-17,Rutupurna Pathak 1-02, Anil Adgaonkar 1-20 & Sanjay Nikhare 1-12 were the other bowlers to restrict Union Bank to 102 runs. For Union Bank , Nagesh Narule 26(2 fours 2 sixers), Durgesh Paraste 19 were the only batsmen to reach double figure mark.
In reply, PNB lost their 2. Wickets early, but Aakash Shindekar 48(4fours. 4Sixers, 22balls) played in whirlwind fashion to record a comfortable 7 wickets victory. Ankit Vishwakarma 15 , Anil Adgaonkar 14 NO were the other contributors in PNB’s victory.
