Reserve Bank of India (RBI) once again emerged winners in the Inter-Bank Table Tennis Tournament organised by Bankers’ Sports Council at Shakti Club TT hall, here today.
In the final RBI defeated Bank of India 3-1 to win the title for consecutive sixth time. In the first single, Sachin Gaur defeated Paresh Sutane 11-3, 11-6, 11-8. In the second singles, Alhad Gunjal turned the tables on Abhay Pradhan 11-5, 11-3, 11-9. However in the third single, veteran Praful Nandedkar lost to Mangesh Mopkar 11-7, 3-11, 3-11, 8-11. In the reverse single, Gunjal downed Sutane 11-4, 11-8, 1-2 to win the title.
In the men’s singles final, Sachin Gaur while representing RBI defeated Alhad Gunjal 13-11, 9-11, 13-15, 14-12, 11-9 to win hard fought title. In the women’s final, Asha Dawale of SBI downed Sujal Kawle of Bank of India 11-6, 11-9, 11-9. CD Manke, Rajesh Joshi, CP Karkar were present during the finals. Deepak Kanetkar was the chief referee.
