Behind a voice, there are many issues, that when tackled medically with medication and proper exercise of the vocal chords, can make a lot difference.
A presentation on importance of voice was explained in an interactive programme organised on the “World Voice Day†by renowned leading ENT Surgeons and Laryngologists like Dr. Gauri Kapre Vaidya, Consultant NEETI Clinik,  Dr. Bhagyashree  Bokare Associated Professor Department , GMC Nagpur and Dr. Devendra Mahore Professor Department of ENT Gondia.
The programme of interaction was organised under the aegis of Chitnavis Centre Nagpur and NEETI Clinic.
Dr.Gauri spoke about how the voice is produced, dealing with pitch of the voice and various aspects that changes with age. With the help of impressive video clips, she explained Larynx, air way protection and safe swallowing breathing.
She described voice as a combination of sound, resolution and articulation. She gave technical details on voice box muscles, nerves, movement governed by muscles that need to be exercised.
Dr. Devendra Mahure strongly advised people that they should be in love with sound of their own voice. “One must take care to increase vocal chord lubrication. Avoid irritants like smoking, heavy drinking, External dehydration, breathing with open mouth, internal dehydration, use of caffeine. Avoid frequent rough manner of clearing throat, as it traumatic to vocal chordsâ€, he added.
