CA’s & Government department should work hand in hand for the development of our country – said Union Minister for Railways & Coal Hon’ble CA Piyush Goyal during his maiden courtesy visit to Nagpur Branch of ICAI. The potential of CA’s, duly recognised in ensuring financial discipline in government department, would give more strength to status of CA’s as partners in Nation Building.
GST was the most challenging task to be implemented in a country with vivid classes like India. Many countries in entire world failed to implement GST smoothly. But in India, credit goes to Chartered Accountants fraternity for guiding & ensuring good implementation in a short span of time he further added.
Shri Goyal also explained governments’ stand on GST and said he is hope full that all tax problems of trade & industry will be resolved in due course of time. He expressed satisfaction on the part of trade &industry and the role of Chartered Accountants.
Hon’ble CA. Shri Piyush Goyal, who himself was a ranker in CA exams, also addressed a section of CA Students where he motivated them to inculcate values like honestly, transparency & integrity with an attitude of serving our motherland in any capacity. He said that most of the exams can be cleared with positive mindset and commitment.
CA Suren Duragkar, Chairman Nagpur Branch, welcomed CA Piyush Goyal & said that CA’s are excelling in all fields and elaborated remarkable work done by chartered accountants in other fields like politics’, police department, bureaucracy. CA Suren Duragkar said many CA’s become IAS & IPS and brought glory to the CA fraternity. Chairman appraised about the issues faced by the assesee in GST implementation to which Shri Goyal addressed point wise. Chairman also raised the issue in transparency in allotment of audit in banking and other sector. He emphasised on audit of government local bodies, railways, etc. to which Shri Goyal gave due consideration and assured implementation of various suggestions in this regard.
CA Abhijit Kelkar, RCM, said that it is privilege for Nagpur Branch that CA Piyush Goyal himself visited Nagpur Branch and showed the humbleness of Union Minister towards his fraternity. CA’s can prove to be an asset for Government of India if their services are utilised in Government sectors – he further added.
