The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is in news once again for wrong reasons. This time varsity has overturned its own order, which was issued just a few days back, and removed Dr Raju Hiwase as the registrar of the University. Now, Dr Vinayak Deshpande has been given the charge of registrar.
Dr Hiwase was appointed as registrar earlier this month. However, within a week, he was replaced by Dr Deshpande. The RTMNU has not yet clarified why it removed Dr Hiwase within a few days and appointed Dr Deshapnde in his place. Dr Hiwase was given the additional charge of the registrar after Dr Niraj Khati resigned from the post to join Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT). Interestingly, Dr Khati’s appointment too had raised many eyebrows because LIT itself has been in news in the recent times because of a controversy over appointments against vacant posts.
