Nagpur: Over 24,000 students are expected to appear in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5 for admission in MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges across the country.
Though the NTA has not provided exact number of students appearing in the exam from Nagpur division, sources said 24,800 have applied to take the exam.
Schools affiliated with the Cental Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are the centres for NEET in Nagpur.
It is learnt that students of neighbouring states too have opted for Nagpur as centre to take the exam. Nearly 300 students from these states are expected to appear in the city.
In Nagpur district there are 32 schools affiliated with CBSE including Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Meanwhile, NTA has advised all the aspirants to visit exam center a day before the exam so that they can reach the allotted centre on time without last minute hassle. NTA has also released advisory for student regarding dress code and other instructions.
