Raman Science Centre had organized interesting programmes for the students and General public on Monday to celebrate Earth Day.
A drawing competition was organised for the students of STD. I to X on topics such as, 1. Tree plantation, 2. Save Mother Earth, 3.Energy Resources, 4. Green City and 5. Pollution Hazards, 6.Cleanliness, Health and Hygiene.
About 25 students from different schools participated and have painted their beautiful thoughts on paper.
A Popular Science Lecture on the topic “Save Species†was organised for the students and general public. The lecture was delivered by Professor, Institute of Forensic Science Nagpur, M. S. Bhosale.  In his lecture Mr. Bhosale highlighted the issue of deforestation, pollution and over use of pesticides that is responsible for the extinction of some species of animals, birds and insects.
An open house quiz was also conducted on theme our earth. Questions based on knowledge of Our Earth were asked. About 70 students participated in the quiz. Successful students were awarded with prizes. .
The event was concluded with a prize distribution ceremony wherein, the winners of Sit and Draw Competition were felicitated.
