The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) students found themselves in an awkward situation when they came to know that the first semester examination of BVoc, which was supposed to start from Tuesday, has been postponed. Shockingly, the varsity management had not given any prior information to the students regarding postponement of the examination. The exams would now be conducted from May 20. A notification in this regard was issued on Monday evening, when the students were busy in the preparation.
The reason behind postponing the exam to May was not made clear in the notification, which only stated that the exams have been postponed due to some reasons. Many students were not aware of this notification, which was released all of a sudden without any prior information. They reached the examination centre on the scheduled time, but were shocked to know that the exams have been pushed to May.
Sources in the University told The Live Nagpur that exams were deferred on request of the college management. A few colleges, who got approval recently, had urged the varsity to postpone the exam for a month to save an entire year of students. Considering their problem the varsity revised its time table for newly introduced courses.
As per this time table the exams would start from May 20. However, what irked the students was totally unprofessional attitude of the varsity. The decision of postponing the exams could have been conveyed to the students earlier, but the varsity seems to be least bothered about the students. Hence, it announced the postponed of exams only a few hours before its commencement in a haste, leaving several students fuming.
