Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while addressing a Traders National Convention held at Talkatora Stadium at New Delhi lauded the yeomen services rendered by business community development of economy of the nation and termed their role as a backbone of Country’s economy. Thousands of traders from Delhi and other States were present in the convention.
In his welcome address Shri Vijay Goel Union Minister thanked the Prime Minister for bold decisions taken for benefit of traders. He expressed special thanks for giving importance to trade & traders of Nation.
Welcoming the Prime Minister, CAIT Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that BJP has included some of the very crucial and fundamental issues of the traders in its election manifesto and expressed hope than when in power again, Shri Modi led Government  will implement the declarations in a speedy way.
On behalf of 7 Crores Traders of India, B.C.Bhartia National President expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for various policy decisions for development of trade, right from village level to metro cities. Bhartia said that opening of Jan Dhan Account of small traders’ facilitated availment of funds by unfunded through P.M. Mudra Yojana and finally acceptance of digital mode of acceptance and payment through credit cards.
Compulsory online registrations and Statutory compliance has not only helped eliminate contacts between traders and Govt. officials but has helped in removal of corruption and inspector Raj thereby opening the way for ease of doing business. Bhartia thanked PM for constituting Trade Board and for changing name of DIPP in Minister of commerce to DI & IT thereby including internal trade in Ministry. Bhartia finally concluded that the way in which the policies are been made, the so called India to be a third world country will soon become third largest economy of world.
This meeting of Prime Minster with traders at a juncture when election campaigning is at a high swing assumes much significance. There are about 7 crores traders across Country which provides employment to more than 30 crore people. The traders have a dominant role on almost 195 Loksabha seats all over the Country and their voting pattern can influence the results to a great extent.
