Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation is organizing one of the biggest and the prestigious “G H Raisoni Memorial All India FIDE Classical ,Rapid & Blitz Rating Chess Tournament,” in Nagpur from 19th May to 26th May .The venue of the tournament Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research , Deeksha Bhoomi, Laxmi Nagar .
The tournament is recognised by World Chess Federation “Federation International Des Echecs “(FIDE), All India Chess Federation (AICF), All Marathi Chess Association (AMCA) and Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA). These are the authorities existing in the sports of chess on global, National, State and District level.
Chess, one of the most ancient, intellectual and cultural games, is a combination of sports, and scientific thinking. Raisoni Group recognizes the values of this game in human life, hence committed to build a platform for children, youths and veterans With the mission of organizing FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in Nagpur for more than a decade.
The Tournament is of immense significance to the players pertaining the ratings which credits the career and prospects of the players in India.
Mr.Sunil Raisoni , Chairman of Raisoni group have always taken this initiative to facilitate chess in the region not only on National but on International level and without there supports it would not have been possible.
The tournament will be conducted in all three Official formats in Chess . Classical tournament starting from 19th May to 24th May , Rapid & Blitz tournament on 25th and 26th May 2019. It gives a huge opportunity for Players from all over India to get International Rating in all three Formats during this Chess festival.
The associations at different levels try to create some or the other hurdles which leads in delay for getting the Event Code from higher Authorities and makes it hard for organisers to conduct such mega events. Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation yet again fought hard to win the bid for the three tournaments.
A dedicated team lead by Dr. Mrinalini Naik of Raisoni Group and Mr. Bhushan Shriwas Of Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation is working hard for the success of the tournament.
The Vice President of AICF Mr. Manoj Itkelwar, Mr. K.K. Barat Secretary of NDCA and Dr. Nirzar Kulkarni (Director) of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research have extended their cooperation for the tournament.
A recognised team of Arbiters headed by International Arbiter Mr. Swapnil Bansod will conduct and monitor the tournament .
There are total 261 prizes, 111 cash prizes and 150 trophies for players. The winner will get Rs. 50000/- Classical event and Rs. 21000/- Rapid event . Cash Prize will also be given to top six unrated players, three rating groups and cash prizes to top three for best veteran best Nagpur, and best female player .
Top 10 players in Boys and top 5 players in girls from each age group will be facilitated with prestigious trophies and top two schools will also receive a trophy. Total Cash Prize of Tournament is rupees Four lacs.
