The Orange City may soon get five new flights to Mumbai and New Delhi if the proposal sent by IndiGo and GoAir to start new flights from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport gets nod by the DGCA. The final decision on the proposal is likely to be taken within a week. IndiGo and GoAir had earlier started new flights from Nagpur after Jet Airways grounded its operations.
As per sources, both the airlines will get approval for 3 months only. It should be noted that from the beginning of March 2019 itself, other airlines had started to make efforts to procure the timings of Jet Airways, seeing its deteriorating financial condition. It is also being said that with the new flights coming into operation, the number of flights being parked at Nagpur airport in the night will increase. Currently, IndiGo and GoAir’s flight halt at Nagpur airport in the night.
Other domestic players are trying to acquire maximum space in night parking so as to make flights available in the morning firsthand. As per sources, IndiGo and GoAir are planning to start new flights from Nagpur to Delhi, Mumbai and Allahabad.
