Zero Shadow Day to be observed in Vidarbha Region on May 26 at Nagpur and Bhandara on 12:12 pm and 12:27 pm respectively. President of Sky Watch Group Professor Suresh Chopane informed that on Zero Shadow Day the sun will be at its peak on top of the city at a specific time.
There will be no shadows visible on May 26 at 12:12 pm in Nagpur and 12:27 in Bhandara, as sun will be at its Zenith on top of the city.
Professor Chopane further added that usually the sun travels by a narrow margin towards the North or South around moon every day. But on Zero Shadow Day the will be exactly over the head.
According to the sources, this phenomenon occurs twice a year as the sun trails its path to the tropic of cancer and the retrials its path towards the south.
In Maharashtra the Zero Shadow day will occur from May 3 to 30th and from July 16th to August 12. The same will be observed in Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Akola, Wardha, Amrawati, Paratwada, Warud and Gondia.
