Due to the growing water crisis in the city the former students of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) have decided to donate water ATM to the hospital.
Now the patients and their family members can utilize the cold drinking water at all times at just Rs 1/lit. The water ATM is said to be operational from today.
According to the sources, about 3,000 patients visit GMCH OPD on daily basis and 1800 patients are admitted. Only two family members are allowed to stay with the patients, due to which the hospital requires 30 lakh liters of water daily out of which only 15 to 17 lakh lit of water is provided by the hospital.
Dean Dr Sajan Mitra had visited the ATM and tested the sample. He said that the hospital has always tried to provide better facilities to the patients and their relatives.
The water ATM will be a major source of help in this scorching heat of Nagpur to the patients and their kin.
