Defending champion Dr Ambedkar College Sports Academy (DACSA) started their campaign on winning note by recording huge 120 run win over VMV Club in Sharad Bhake Memorial Inter-Club Under-13 Cricket Tournament at Citi Gymkhana ground here on Saturday.
Batting first after winning the toss DACSA piled up 216 for 6 in 30 overs. Abhishek Kanetkar top scored with 62 hitting ten boundaries. Suleman Khan and Iknoor Singh scored 37 each. For VMV, Akshad Borkar claimed one wicket while Arnav Kawle and Rudra Shukla were chipped in with one each.
In reply, VMV lost their wickets at regular interval and were restricted to 99 for 7 in 30 overs. Om Jasud (20) and Arnav Jawale (17) showed some resistance. For DACSA, Arnav Sinha and Anvay Lade shared four wickets between them.
At Central Railway ground, Reshimbagh Gymkhana drubbed Rising Star by ten wickets.Rising Star were all out for 58 in 17.2 overs. Thanks to Anagh Fating who ripped through the batting line up and claimed four wickets. Manthan Burade (3 for 5) and Shridhar Sharma (2 for 9) too bowled well.
In reply, Reshimbagh achieved the target without any damage. Prathmesh Kumbhare (28) and Atharva Thavre (18) completed the formalities.
At Nelco Society ground, Ruby Sporting thrashed Sapphire Cricket Club by nine wickets. Batting first Sapphire scored 158 all out in 29.4 overs. Nisarg Thakre scored brilliant 58 hitting nine fours. For Ruby, Rajveer Jolly (4 for 15) was the most successful bowlers. In reply, Ruby chased the target losing just one wicket in 23.4 overs. Thanks to Adhyan Rauthan who slammed unbeaten 93 with the help of 13 boundaries and two sixes. Sarvesh Ikhankar too batted well and knocked off unbeaten 43 consisting four boundaries.
At Vidya Vihar ground, host SBCA recorded five -wicket victory over Maruti Cricket Academy. Batting first Maruti were bowled out for a paltry 41 in 15.4 overs. Only Niv Basantwani (15) managed to cross the double digit. For SBCA, Aryah Suke snared three wickets giving away just two runs. Daksh Yadav, Shardul Deshpande and Ansh Nipale too bowled well and got two each.
After initial hiccups SBCA achieved the target losing five wickets in 12.1 overs. Atharva Patel top scored with ten runs. For Maruti, Manan Wakode and Arnav Deshmukh got two wickets each.
