G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur becomes second engineering college and first private engineering college in India to offer B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AI). A full-fledged B.Tech programme in AI will commence from the next academic year (2019-20).
AICTE in recent communication with Institute has approved a start of UG programme in Artificial Intelligence from 2019-20 with intake of 60. The institute has started Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning last year.
India ranks third in the world in terms of high quality research publications in artificial intelligence (AI) but is at a significant distance from world leader China, according to an analysis by research agency Itihaasa, which was founded by former CEO and co-founder of Infosys Kris Gopala krishna.
Chairman, Raisoni Group of Institutions and Governing Board, GHRCE, Sunil Raisoni, took special interest in proposing need of such program and looking forward towards the global demand of AI skilled professionals.
“In the past two years, Indian companies are investing high on using AI. This has led to huge requirement of workforce of AI professionals in India.  AI professionals are getting 60-80% hikes while switching jobs, compared with an average of 20-30% in other skill areas. Starting such programme is a step towards meeting high demand of AI professionals in the technology sector,†informed, Director, GHRCE, Dr Preeti Bajaj.
GHRCE ranked 111th PAN-India in Engineering Discipline as declared by NIRF Ranking 2019. Institute is also ranked in top 100 for ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements) Ranking 2019.  It has been accredited by NAAC with “A+†grade (3.51 score out of 4). Earlier institute has been recipient of IEDC grant (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) by NSTEDB, DST.
