A recklessly driven passenger auto knocked a middle aged man dead near Shaktimata Nagar on Sunday night.
According to police sources, boarding on Passion pro bike (MH/31/VS/4253) a 53-year-old man was passing through Shaktimata Nagar. Around 8 pm, when he reached Ramesh Electronics, a rashly driven auto dashed him from behind. Result of which, the 53-year-old man fell on the road and died on the spot.
Nandanvan police have booked unidentified auto driver under section 279, 304 (A) of the IPC and Sub-section 134, 177 of the Maharashtra Vehicle Act.
Three robbed man of mobile phone and cash at knife point in Nandanvan
A 29-year-old man was robbed of mobile phone and cash Rs 5,200 when he was returning from his sister’s residence on Sunday night.
According to the police sources, Praful Shamraoji Deepkate (29), a resident of Plot. No. 526, Khatikpura, Pardi was returning home from his sister’s residence on bike (MH/49/Y/6223), when three accused aged between 20-23 approached him with knife and swords near Chandmari Mandir under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan police and forced him to hand over his wallet and mobile phone.
Nandanvan police have booked the accused trio under Section 395 of IPC.
Man’s body found in Gandhisagar Lake
Sensation prevailed around Gandhisagar Lake area on Monday, when a body of a man was found floating in the lake.
The deceased has been identified as Akash Virshuji Meshram (27).
According to police sources, local residents spotted Akash’s body at around 11 am, and informed cops. However it is yet to establish that it is murder or a suicide. In the meantime police have sent the corpse to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post modem.
Ganeshpeth police have registered a case of accidental death in this connection.
