It was one of the luckiest days for six kids who were forced into a begging racket and were rescued by a NGO Twinkle Foundation with the help of Lakadganj Police on May 19. These 6 kids were forced to beg in the scorching condition in the streets of Nagpur.

We all know that begging is criminalized in many parts of India still there are many places in the city like traffic signals and streets where we can see little once begging on the streets.
Yash Gourkhede founder of the Twinkle Foundation while talking to TLN informed that they received information about the racket which was in function at Chapru Nagar traffic signal run by a fugitive named Sonu.
When we talked to the kids they informed that the accuse use to torture them and use to give cigarette burns when they refused to beg and were often beaten as well.
The rescued children were between 5 to 6 years and are now safe with Lakadganj Police. We also have tracked down some of the children parents while some are being sent to play school for a bright future.
Yash further added that police officials are still searching answers for how and when these kids came in contact with Sonu.
Yash along with the volunteers of the NGO Pratik Barbate, Shashank Patil ,Vaibhav Gharde, Himanshu Wankhede, Nayan Thakre, Antara Sarodkar, Nikhil Zade, Shubham Paserkar helped in rescuing these innocent souls and helped in making their life better.
