Several trains run late due to various repair, maintenance and developmental works undertaken by the railways on Monday, causing great inconvenience to passengers.
According to sources, 11 trains were running late from their scheduled time. Passengers travelling on the sleeper and general compartments of these trains were the worst-hit. Those having connecting trains, or had to take a flight were left stranded due to the delay.
In Nagpur railway station too, many passengers had to wait for several hours at the waiting hall or platform due to delay in trains.
Sources said, train number 12286 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Secundrabad Duronto Express was running late by eight hours while 07006 Raxaul – Hyderabad express was late by 15 hours. Similarly, train number 12810 Howrah- CST Mumbai express was late by 1.40 hours, 15120 Manduadih-Rameswaram Express was late by 2.15 hours, 12130 Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express 1.55 hours, 12102 Howrah-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Dnyaneshwari Express 1.45 hours, 12649 Yeshwantpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express 1.30 hours, 12950 Santragachi-Porbandar Express 2 hours, 12296 Danapur-Bengaluru Sangmitra Express 1.45 hours, 12834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express 4.30 hours and 12647 Coimbatore-Hazrat Nizamuddin was late by 1.30 hours.
Three trains were cancelled by the railways, which also led to inconvenience to passengers. Among the cancelled trains included – 12803 Visakhapatnam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Swarnjayanti Express and Wardha-Ballarshah Passenger.
