BJP was all set to receive a set back as its sitting MP and incumbent Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir was trailing by 25,624 votes against Congress nominee Balu Dhanorkar in Chandrapur-Wasni Lok Sabha Constituency. Dhanorkar had secured 2,65,371 votes while Ahir had received 2,39, 747 votes.
Similarly Ashok Nete of BJP polled 4,74,039 votes to lead while Dr Namdeo Usendi got 4,01,031 votes in Gadchiroli Constituency as counting was in progress. Sunil Mendhe of BJP had polled 5,06,165 votes against 3,53,890 votes by Nana Panchbudhe of NCP in adjoining Bhandara-Gondia constituency.
