Ritika Thaker of Nagpur entered the quarter finals in twin events in All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Trivendrum on Friday.
In the mixed doubles second round, Ritika and her partner Dingku Sing beat Suraj Guala and Maini Boruah 21/17 and 21/12 to reach the quarter finals where they now play top seeds Navneet Bokka and Sahiti Bandi.
Later in the girls doubles, the sixth seeds in the second round they got better of Mehreen Riza and Nila V the scores reading 21/16 and 21/15. They now run into fourth seeds Shruti Mishra and Samruddhi Singh in the quarter finals.
It may be mentioned this is the second tournament for the junior India team for the Asian Junior badminton championships to be held later this year.  Ritika a student of Hislop college trains under Ajay Dayal at Ymca and under Robin Simon.
