Tigress E-1 suspected to be involved in a man-animal conflict in Brahmapuri Division was tranquilized and shifted to Gorewada zoo on Friday night. The tiger was tranquilized by the forest department on Friday afternoon as per the reports.
Due to many recent attacks and the feline related incidents, people from the village were forced to agitate at the office of Kulrajsing, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Brahmapuri after which they were given an assurance that the full grown tigress will be shifted to another forest.
Nitin Kakodkar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest gave immediate orders to the officials of Navegaon Forest Range of Brahmapuri Division to start working on the request by the villagers.
The tigress was tranquilized by Dr. Ravikiran Khobragade and field staff members before sending to Gorewada Rescue Centre, Nagpur.
This year itself many man-animal conflicts at the village of Navegaon, Parsodi and Tukum happen to be registered in the Brhamapuri Forest Division.
