Maharashtra Pollution Control Board held a workshop on Air Pollution to mark the World Environmental Day. The seminar was organised at Udyog Bhavan today with an aim and attempt to make the smart city more efficient towards its culture and usage of resources.
Industries should have inventories which already exist but should be continually updated, said Padma Rao, Senior Scientist, NEERI.
We have to go for zero emission of harmful gases as we are already too late for the words such as less or light, added Rao.
The senior scientist even insisted on using on massive scale which will ultimately reduce the usage of vehicle causing the pollution. She asked the Chief Executive Officer of Smart City Nagpur, Dr. Ramnath Sonawane present during the workshop, to make the usage of metro mandatory and to promote & regulate it amongst the population.
Along with Rao and Sonawane, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Mohite and Regional officer of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Rahul Wankhede were also present for the one day workshop.
