Enjoy an amazing morning walk in a dense Jungle, right in the heart of Nagpur City.
Bharat Van is a beautiful mini forest, situated near Futala Lake. It is home to many birds like Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Golden Orioles, Kingfishers, Eagles, Buzzards and our National bird; Peacock! Ebird website enlists more than 130 species of birds.
It is a dense, green, mini forest, and is the last standing forest inside Nagpur city.
Even in the peak of summer when temperatures are soaring to 47 degrees Celsius in Nagpur, Bharat Van is still green, and the foliage is so dense! During my walk I could see many birds including Paradise Flycatchers, Parakeets, and even a Peacock! The air was so pristine and invigorating!
The main reason for visiting Bharat Van was because the authorities are planning to cut down the forest and build a road through it. As stupid as that sounds, it might become a frightening reality very soon.
The citizens of Nagpur are coming together to tell the authorities that they DO NOT want a road through Bharat Van, and they DO NOT want to see the forest being cut down! We want to leave behind a better planet for future generations!
The trail is open for all every morning starting from 6 am onwards. A nature lover can also join the Bharat Van Walkers community  https://www.facebook.com/events/482879139129703/
These walks are led by dynamic citizen of Nagpur belonging to Orange City Walkers, Half Day Wildlifers and Mood of the Group.
