Krisha Soni along with Devesh Jena and Aasavari Khandekar bagged the double crown in Bhagini Manbdal District Sub-Junior Badminton Championship that concluded at DNC indoor hall, Congress Nagar on Thursday.
Krisha won Under-13 girls singles and doubles title. In the singles final she defeated Nishika Gokhe 20-22, 21-9 21-07. In the doubles pairing with Nishika she outplayed Anvi Raut and Manvi Funde  duo 21-15 21-14.
Similarly, Devesh Jena also walked away with double crown. In the Under-15 boys final, top seed Devesh quelled the spirited challenge of Sanvik Chaudhari 21-14, 17-21, 21-5. Then in the doubles Devesh Jena and Sanvik Chaudhari overcame Aryan Mandavgane and Chaitanya Chaudhary 21-13 21-18 in straight two games.
Asawavi Khandekar was another shuttler who won two titles. In the Under-15 singlee event she defeated Pinak Rokde 21-14, 15-21, 21-13 in three games. She added another feather to her cap by winning doubles title. Asavari and Nikita Joseph made a light work of Mrunmayee Pande and Srushti Kane 21-9, 21-12.
The Under-10 boys singles final witnessed a upset when unseeded Aayush Adey stunned top seed Sairaj Nayse 16-21, 21-13, 21-12. However, in the girls final, top seed Fizza Akbani lived up to her reputation and toppled Aarya Bhujade 21-13 21-11 effortlessly.
Bhagini Mandal president Aarti Pendse was the chief guest of prize distribution function.
Secretary Arundhanti Mahajan, sports secretary Chitra Ghare,Suvarna Kale, Manjeri Nanoti , Alka Kalikar, Priya Deshpande, Kalyani Buti, NDBA joint secretary Bhavana Agrey, executive member Madhav Soman, Â Gurudeep Singh Arora, Bhavesh Deshmukh and Thaukar were present on the occasion.
