Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University headquartered at Nagpur is the largest University in India imparting education in Veterinary and Fishery Sciences. Recently, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi granted accreditation to all the 10 constituent colleges of MAFSU.
The Veterinary College of Mumbai and Nagpur significantly achieved A+ Grade while Veterinary College of Shirwal (Dist. Satara) received A Grade.
In the last accreditation only few colleges of MAFSU were able to get accreditation for only two years which affected the funding status of University through ICAR. Â However, due to remarkable reforms and infrastructural facilities and improvement in the standards of education, research and extension, all colleges of MAFSU are now granted accreditation for next 5 years. Â The cumulative score achieved by MAFSU is 2.88, thus achieving at par status with other Agricultural Universities which are more than 50 years old.
It will facilitate funding from ICAR to MAFSU necessary for further strengthening of the infrastructural facilities. The Vice-Chancellor of MAFSU Prof. A.M. Paturkar expressed great pleasure and dedicated this achievement to all the teaching and non-teaching officers, students and other staff of the University for their team spirit and hard work.
