Jatin Piplikar’s all-round performance helped Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) to beat Ruby Sporting Club by 67 runs in the ongoing Inter-Academy Under-23 Cricket Tournament organised by Reshimbagh Cricket Club at DD Nagar Vidyalaya ground, here on Monday.
Batting first NCA scored 146 for 8 in 20 overs. Thanks to Piplikar who played brilliant knock of 52. He was ably supported by Utkarsh Walsale (34), Avishkar Jaydeo (14) and Anurag Dixit (18).
For Ruby, Sumit Kumar claimed two wickets while Siddharth Nagose, Kamesh Chavan, Rohit Birkar and Ashit Singh got one wicket each.
In reply, Ruby were all out for a paltry 79 in 12.3 overs. Alok Wadkar who ripped through the batting line up and snared five wickets for 13 runs. Batting hero Piplikar too bowled well and got three for 21. For Ruby only Rohit Binkar (35) and Ashit Singh (17) showed some resistance. Piplikar was declared man-of-the-match.
In another match, SB City Club recorded 23-run victory over host Reshimbagh Cricket Club (RCC). Batting first SB City scored 115 for 3 in 20 overs. Sagar Malokar slammed unbeaten 63 hitting three boundaries and one six.
Kshitij Choudhary (34 not out) also batted well. For RCC Taral Kadu got two wickets for 15 runs. In reply, RCC was bowled out for 92 in 14.4 overs. Only Karan Piplikar (20) and Gourav Chirde (15 not out) offered some resistance. For SB City, Sagar Malikar was the most successful bowler and he took four wickets. He was later declared man-of-the-match.
