Maha Metro of Nagpur city has been calling itself the greenest one and the one that will be reusing the most of its natural resources, which seems totally true as some of the stations are coming in act and a crowd is seen regulated on them.
According to Brijesh Dixit, Maha Metro Managing director, Nagpur Metro will be generating most of its power from the solar panels that will be fitted on the rooftop of the stations.
The photovoltaic (PV) capacity of these panels will be the ones reducing cost on units of electricity used in generating power for the stations and transportation of metro.
It is seen that the stations on Wardha Road route, are already done with the fitting of solar panels and even started generating power.
209 panels on Khapri Station are installed with a capacity of 67.925 (kWp) solar PV, which will be producing 9530 of units per day.
This calculation of solar panels is taken on May 19. Similarly, 346 panels on New Airport station, 407 on Airport South, 540 on Airport are installed. These panels have a capacity of 112.45 at New Airport, 132.275 Airport South, 172.8 Airport.
The solar panels are said to be generating around 70234 units of energy per day as per the provided data.
