Refresh Vyasam Mukti Kendra had recently organised a health camp at its Manewada office to observe International Day Against Drug Abuse. The camp was organised to create awareness among the youth about ill-effects of drugs and other intoxicating substances which are consumed in the form of pills, powder etc.
Nearly 170 patients participated in the camp. Blood donation, cancer among women, and dental examination were conducted.The camp was inaugurated by the National OBC Federation Women Chairperson Sushma Bhat. Aruna Bhonde, Pragati Mahajan, Madhuri Arikar, Director of the organization, Pranjali Talhan, Manager Suresh Wandhre, Dr. R. Pradip Mahajan, Hemraj Bhake, Kaustub Dhobey etc. were present.
At this time, the director of the institute Pranjali Talhan said that men and women both have become victim if excessive consumption of drugs and today’s younger generation is suffering from addiction. Since most people are consuming substances like tobacco, beedi, cigarette, gutkha, alcohol, charas, ganja, diseases like cancer is spreading its tentacles. Many do not exercise regularly and remain engaged in late night activities. They rarely get clean air to breathe. This has badly affected their health.
Doctors, para-medical staff, experts and other staff members of Life Line Blood Bank, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Regional Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Government Dental College gave their services in the camp.
