Every year IDEAS-Institute of Design Education and Architectural Studies, Nagpur conducts blessing ceremony of immediate pass out students.
Blessing ceremony is a formal function to confer a certificate of completion of B.Arch. course to the immediate pass out students along with administering an oath of Professional, Ethical practices in the field of Architecture.
The blessing ceremony of 2013-14 batch was held at 11:00 a.m. on June 28 at Institute Campus. The Chief Guest for the function was Ar. Girish Doshi, a prominent Architect, and Planner from Pune. The Guests of Honour was Ar. Paramjit Singh Ahuja, Chairman, IIA, Nagpur Centre.
In this function, the need for ethical and moral practices and the challenges expected to be faced in the profession of Architecture are communicated to the students.
The recipient of Molee Maheshkumar Goyal Gold Medal, Ms. Ashwini Suresh Ghodmare, First Merit for entire Nagpur University in Bachelor of Architecture was specially felicitated at the ceremony and a prize of Rs. 51,000/- was awarded to her by Prof. A. V. Purohit, Principal, IDEAS.
Speaking on the occasion Ar. Girish Doshi, Chief Guest asked students to stay committed and continue the hard work for the architectural fraternity. He also shared his success mantra with students which is 5+5+2, where 5 years of education, 5 years of working and learning with a master architect, on the principle of ‘guru-shishya parampara’ and a 2 year of postgraduate study, which will surely bring great knowledge, among graduated students.
Prof. Abhay Purohit, the Principal, wishing student on their graduation asked them to stay motivated and continue the enthusiasm in them while practicing as a professional architect. He further expressed the philosophy of IDEAS, which is learning and working together, and hence he had asked students to keep the interactions with the institute alive forever, which also makes institute to grow in future.
Ar. P.S. Ahuja delivered warm wishes to students on their graduation and demanded them to empower themselves with the complete knowledge about practicing architecture, he also elaborated that today, since the country is developing, it immensely needs Indian architects to lead the ongoing development practices.
Ar. Vinod Jattewar, Secretary, Swargiya Jagannath Jattewar Shikshan Sanstha, graced the ceremony by his presence. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Milind Gujarkar, HoD.  The function was attended by students, their parents, and faculty of IDEAS and other institutions.
