Sumedh Ramteke emerged the winner in District Under-25 Chess Tournament organised by Nagpur District Chess Association in association with Dhanwate National College’s  indoor hall, Congress Nagar, here on Sunday. In the six-round tournament, Ramteke earned five points to win the crown. He was followed by top seed Parth Lonkat with (4.5, 15.25 ) points whereas Rushikesh Lohit secured third place with  (4.5, 13.75) points. In the last round, Lohit and Lonkar played out a drawdraw. On second board, Ramteke outclassed Nilay Kulkarni whereas Manthan Kale recorded the victory over Harshwardhan Chatte.
The prizes were distributed at the hands of NDCA Secretary K K Barat. The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were VCA Secretary  S N Shriwas, NDCA organising secretary  Umesh Panbude and chief arbiter Pravin Pantawane. The top four players will represent Nagpur district in forthcoming state tournament to be held at Jalna from July 10 to 14.
