City shuttlers made it to the third round in Yonex Sunrise Maharashtra State Junior Badminton Championship organised by Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) at Subhedar Hall, here on Thursday.
City’s Nikkita Joseph stretched by Greater Mumbai’s Karishma Khardikar in the second round.  Nikkita  won first game 2-11 easily. However in the second game, Karishma regain her form and restored parity by winning it 21-17. In the decider that was also keenly contested, Nikkita downed her opponent 21-16 on the basis of powerful smashing.
However other city shuttlers had smooth sailing in the third round. Kripi Sajwan, Chaitali Nayse, Sophia Simon,  Pinak Rokde, Livia Fernandez, Bhargavi Rambhad, Arya Anchalwar in the girls section entered the third round. In the boys category, Gandhar Nawale , Nabeel Ahmed and  Sifat Arora entered the third round.
