In today’s time where hospitals and its amenities are one of the basic necessity that a person requires, the rural hospital in Navegaon Bandh in Gondia district is lacking in these facilities amenities and staff as well.
Various posts are lying vacant in this hospital. In the absence of the medical team, villagers are deprived of basic medical treatments. The patients in the local rural hospital are increasing every day, but there is only one medical officer appointed to treat these patients.
To add to the problem two nurses along with one pharmacist are on leave. In absence of these nurses class 4 employees is distributing medicines to the patients.
Other issues like tiff between employees and vacancies of various posts, is not resolved yet. Taking the matter in their hands, Sarpanch of Navegaon Bandh, Anirudh Sahare, has warned to launch agitation if no strict action is taken in this matter.
At present, Dr. Mahesh Lothi and Dr. Balu Kapgate are serving the villagers in the outpatient department in the morning hours.
According to the information, total 8 posts are vacant in the hospital, including 1 medical superintendent, 2 medical officers, 4 superintendents, 1 laboratory technician etc.
