Union Minister of State for Human Development, Information Technology and Communication, Sanjay Dhotre has instructed all the telecom companies to provide quality and uninterrupted service to the consumers. Dhotre was speaking at a review meeting of various companies providing telecom facilities in the Akola district at the head office of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Akola district has a total of 20 lakh 75 thousand 557 customers and private mobile companies which have a higher customer base. Because of the low number of mobile customers in rural areas, private companies have not set up enough tower there’s, hence no network is an issue in rural areas in Akola.
Dhotre directed the telecom sector to accelerate service and provide uninterrupted mobile network facilities in the area for the overall development of the country. Digital revolution is happening in every field in terms of development. Digital classrooms, online payment gateway, data transfer services have all been linked to the telecom sector.
Earlier, food, clothing, shelter and then education were said to be the basic needs, now the telecom sector is must. Previously, same meeting was held in Nagpur, where all mobile companies directed to solve network issues and to provide good services to the customers.
Dhotre expressed the need to make collective efforts to ensure that these services should not be discontinued. He also  said that mobile companies should sought the installation of mobile towers with the help of locals.
