The four-day Senior National Woodball Championship organised by Woodball Association of India and Maharashtra Woodball Association began at RTM Nagpur University ground, here on Sunday.
Additional police commissioner Nilesh Bharne inaugurated the championship in the presence of MLA Dr. Milind Mane, Prof. Vijay Barse, director of Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University Dr. Sharad Suryavanshi and corporator Sunil Hiranwar also graced the occasion.
Along with host the teams from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Gujarat’s men and women teams are participating in the championship.
Organizing committee welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets, mementos, cap, and T-shirts. The guests declared the championship open by releasing balloons in the air. On Monday the matches will begin from 9 a.m. onwards.
Ajay Sontakke, Pravin Manwatkar, Girish Gadge, Alka Wanjekar, Govind Jha and others are working hard for the success of event.
