On account of Gurupournima, Swar Sangam Sanskrutik Manch and Kishor Nritya Niketan have organised a Carnatic vocal and Bharatanatyam recital on Tuesday, July 16 at 5:30 pm at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Hall, Nagpur.
The Carnatic kutcheri will be presented by B Jairam from Nagpur on Vocals, K Sai Kumar from Hyderabad on Violin, Yashwant aka Ellappa Hampiholi from Nagpur on Mridangam and G Srikanth from Nagpur on Khanjira.
Also, during the event, fusion will be presented by Atharwa Rai on Synthesizer, Rishabh Vyas on Guitar, Yashwant Hampiholi on Mridangam, Atharwa Upagade on Tabla and Abhilav Sharma on Drums. After the musical, the Bharatantyam dancers, Drea Agrawal, Palaq Agrawal, Kamakshi Hampiholi and Dr Kishoree Hampiholi will take to stage to present Bharatantyam recital.
The dancers will be accompanied by Gireesh Menon from Chennai on Vocals, Kishor and Dr Kishoree Hampiholi on Naytuvangam, Yashwant Hampiholi on Mridangam and Sanjay Sasidharan from Pune on Flute. The chief guest during the event will be Sudhakar Telang, deputy divisional commissioner, Nagpur, and the programme will be presided over by Mohan Parkhi, deputy director, SCZCC, Nagpur. The programme will be conducted by Ankita Deshkar.
Satish Dande, president of the organisation and Kishor Hampiholi have appealed the art lovers of Nagpur to witness this blend of music and dance on Gurupournima. The attraction of the event will be an innovative dance, ‘Guru Varnam’ which will depict the relations between a guru and his shishya. The dancers will depict those with their Bharatanatyam dance.
