The programme started with ‘The School and Company Colors’, as the flags are called in the army parlance, were worshipped with full military honors and style. They were then handed over to the respective flag bearers who carried them away while contingent presented the ‘Arms Salute’ (Salami Shastra).
On this occasion Cadet, Harshal Kokate highlighted the significance of Guru Pournima. Speaking on the occasion, Shilpa Malhar threw light on the importance of celebrating this day. She informed that to mark the birth anniversary of sage Ved Vyasa the day is celebrated as ‘Gurupurnima’.
She said that ‘Guru’ is one who dispels the darkness of ignorance and spread the light of knowledge and wisdom. Through the story of sage Dhaumya and his disciple Upamanyu she emphasizes the importance of one’s faith, respect, and love for his guru. She urged cadets to become disciple like Upamanyu. Ajay Shirke, Head Master, and Mangesh Kemdeo, CAO, H/Capt Chand Mohammad, CTO were present along with entire staff of the school.
On this occasion, the tree plantation programme was held in the school premises to create awareness about the environment. Around 60 different saplings of Bel, Siras and Karanji were planted by all cadets. All the cadets and entire staff of the school participated in the tree plantation programme. Cadets of 2 Mah Armed and 2 Mah Air Sqn of NCC have actively participated in tree plantation programme.
